Social media has revolutionized the way people engage with politics, offering unprecedented access to information, facilitating discussions, and enabling new forms of political participation. Through a combination of theoretical perspectives and empirical evidence, this study highlights both the positive and negative implications of social media on democratic engagement. The analysis draws on case studies and surveys to understand the effects of platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram on political mobilization, voter turnout, and political polarization.
